This year’s report leverages Gain.pro's private market intelligence to offer valuable insights into the growth and investment dynamics driving the sector. Key focus areas include evolving funding patterns, the role of Deeptech innovation, the expanding influence of Dutch scaleups, and The Netherlands' competitive position among global tech economies.
How is the Dutch Tech Landscape Evolving?
Dutch companies secured €3.1 billion in investments in 2024 despite overall European investment has declined.
Deeptech is booming—scaleup ratio up from 16% (2019) to 35% (2024).
AI investments are lagging, and domestic capital participation in large rounds plummeted from 61% to just 15%.
The report launch was marked by an event bringing together over 550 founders, innovators, investors, and policymakers to discuss the strategic choices shaping the future of Dutch tech. This year, Techleap welcomed Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof who shared during his keynote address:
“We are absolutely sure that we have to make the ecosystem work for tech, for deep tech, for AI, for et cetera, and that we should do everything to make sure that the Netherlands can keep up and that we create the talent, that we create the money and therefore create a climate, an economic climate in the Netherlands where startups and businesses can grow.” - Prime Minister Dick Schoof (source)
